When Grace Atwood of The Stripe tells you about a new app, you check it out.  Especially when that app, Think Dirty, is a super easy and amazing way to determine just how safe your beauty products are, or as they describe themselves "the easiest way to learn about the potentially toxic ingredients in your cosmetics and personal care products. " The results on some of my favorite products were, quite frankly, terrifying. While I am willing to do a lot to get my skin back in shape, sacrificing my total health and well-being is not worth it.

And so I began the laborious but rewarding process of swapping out some of my most beloved products for less toxic, non-carcinogenic alternatives. Farewell chemical laden serums. Goodbye parabens.

Like most people I was afraid that I would be sacrificing efficacy in exchange for overall health and well being. A daunting prospect - especially when the benefits involve long term "health" are truly amorphous and hard to comprehend concept, versus the instant gratification of how great your face looks in this moment.

But I did it - because it was the right thing to do, and because guilt is a powerful motivator. And of course, because one kind of cancer is enough.

I found some amazing products on my own, was gifted some others  (see my list of favorites below) but still there was something missing in my life.

Then my PR buddy and skincare angel sent me a Jenu....

Oh. Em. Gee.

I was soooo skeptical - especially because my skincare routine is starting to resemble a Good Vibrations with all the buzzing, humming tools. But a month without my beloved sonic cleansing brush was noticeable, my cheekbones are noticeably plumper and more contoured with my Nuface and everything she had sent me so far was amazing. So I decided to give it a shot.

I committed to using it once a day for 2 weeks (the minimum time I test something before I will write about it - unless it''s something like a mask, in which case I want immediate noticeable results)

I switched up the products I used it with during this time, moving as I am into my less-toxic products.
It's quick and easy to use. I found that the gentle throbbing of the massager was actually super pleasant, so much so that I looked forward to using it. Then I realized it was working. Like crazy working. My skin has never, ever ever looked better.

As I researched the product more (I'll be honest, I had never heard of it before it was sent to me) I realized how many people are crazy obsessed with it, especially when pairing it with natural products. "Propels 6x more skin care into skin with 25% more infusing power." it says - which means I can use less of my expensive, beloved product.

This is definitely a luxury item, but if you calculate how much you spend on your skincare products and can afford about .75 cents a day to make them exponentially more effective, then this might be the treat you were looking for!
