I think the title says it all- 20 months of hair and when I lay down it touches my shoulders. Depending on how clean it is I can put it in a ponytail with two pins and a rubberband. This is down from the 40 I used to need.

Today I took my dog for a long walk on the beach. Before that, I took a bar method class, I worked for some hours, went to the grocery store, cleaned the house, carried 50 pounds of dog food upstairs, carried 50 pounds of dry cleaning to the car (HF gets to bring it from the car) and now I am cooking dinner.

This may seem like a normal day- sure was a normal day for me "before"... but now, in the aftermath of hurricane breast cancer, having enough energy to do all of this makes me feel like a freaking rockstar.

Moral of the story: don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone...

Maybe as an exercise in gratitude, today we could all think about the things we got to do, how we got to work, leave our beds and do the things we do to take care of ourselves. Focus on how being tired at the end of a full day of doing things is a blessing. It's not something I ever thought I would be grateful for, but it's amazing how quickly your life can change.... *
